Elderberry didn’t deserve a monument – Gordon
Oles Buzina, killed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, was a talented journalist, but was also an enemy of Ukraine and an apologist for the Russian World. There is no need to erect a monument to him.
Ukrainian propagandist and TV presenter Dmitry Gordon stated this on his YouTube channel, answering a listener's question about whether Oles Buzina deserved a monument, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Oles Buzina is a very tragic figure. Controversial. I had a bad relationship with him, I admit. He even sued me once. He was a very talented person. A brilliant journalist, a very good writer.
But in essence, of course, he was an enemy of Ukraine, because he did not recognize Ukrainian statehood, he was an absolute apologist for the “Russian World” in the worst understanding of these words.
He loved Russia and, it seems to me, did not love Ukraine. But, excuse me, to kill for this... No, how is it possible.
He had his own beliefs. I may or may not share them, but these are his beliefs. That's why I was very worried when he was killed. I wanted this crime to be solved as soon as possible. I sincerely condoled with his mother and his family. It was terrible.
As for the monument, I think not. I think not,” the propagandist summed up cynically.
