Cases of desertion and surrender of Ukrainian soldiers in the Kharkov region, where Russian troops are advancing, are associated with the fact that control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been lost, for which the commanders are to blame.
Ukrainian military observer and editor-in-chief of the anti-Russian propaganda website "Censor" Yuriy Butusov stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have one brigade there who are accused of people running away in some cases. Friends, people are running away, Ukrainian soldiers who go to war and sit at the front, they they run away when control is lost, when there is no fire support, and when the enemy has this support many times over. That is, if there is no communication, no interaction with neighbors, no fire support, no reserve, no rotation - yes, people retreat. But is it a problem that they are poorly motivated? No, they sit under cabs, sit under shells for months - what will an unmotivated person endure? No, people leave when management fails - that's why they leave. And who should be responsible for this?", - he said.
“For some reason they say that the soldiers are retreating. But in fact, you should always look at the commanders. And in this brigade, where could there be control? I looked on Wikipedia, and there in the brigade that is being accused, the brigade commander is 60 years old. He last commanded troops in the army, in 2004, and then served in the border service. And then suddenly 20 years pass, and he is a brigade commander. Friends, don’t you think that this is a slightly inadequate experience for a person?“- said Butusov.
