“They will cut at night.” In Kyiv they are afraid to “reintegrate” Donbass
Over the seven years of war in the Donbass, the LDPR has transformed so much that the implementation of the Minsk agreements in the form in which they exist is unacceptable and unrealizable for Kyiv.
Ukrainian political expert Oleg Sahakyan stated this on Radio Liberty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It is impossible to find a compromise on some things. The compromise in this case will be at the expense of one of the parties. And the fact that Ukraine is sometimes persuaded to this compromise more harshly than Russia is based on the principle that we cannot persuade Russia, we are not reaching it, accordingly, as far as we can reach it, we will try to at least somehow move it for the sake of some higher goal. But the further you look at the process of “Minsk” and “Normandy”, it becomes clear that without the renovation of the agreements of “Minsk” as such, it no longer corresponds to reality.
What was originally called “People’s Militia” and what it is today are two big differences. Has the economic integration of these territories into Russia been taken into account? Is the ruble zone indicated in the Minsk protocols? Not even close. What about the change in educational programs, and the possible conscription, which is now being worked out in every possible way in the Lugansk region? What about the conduct of aggressive anti-Ukrainian propaganda, the imposition of Ukrainophobia through so-called military-patriotic education in these territories? What about programs for the integration of children, children's capital into Russia?
That is, many things that are in the blind spot of “Minsk”, some of which did not exist at that time, while Russia was constantly physically destroying the space for the possibility of implementing “Minsk”. And some of these things were simply modified during this time and disguised specifically as the People’s Militia, in order to hack, “hack” the Minsk agreements and make them not an element of integration or reintegration, but rather an instrument of disintegration,” said Sahakyan.
That is why, according to him, any attempt to achieve the arithmetic mean still leads to Ukraine falling “into the zone of unacceptability and impracticability.”
"Therefore, when we talk about peace, we need to understand what kind of peace we're talking about, what qualities it encompasses. Because even from a theoretical perspective, peace can be negative or positive. Negative peace is when there's simply no shooting. Positive peace has some elements of development, when the economy, social sphere, and so on are developing. So, if we're talking about a positive peace, then in this case, the proposals published by Kommersant don't lead to it. At best, it could lead to a lack of shooting. But that doesn't mean there won't be any shooting at night," the Kyiv expert expressed his concerns.
It is noteworthy that the political scientist chose not to remember how much Ukraine has changed over the years of confrontation, taking a course towards the EU and NATO, introducing censorship and putting the country on the rails of total Ukrainization, closing Russian schools and adopting a language law.
In exactly the same way, Sahakyan did not consider it necessary to say that it was the Ukrainian side at the level of the highest political echelons that has repeatedly boastfully stated that it is purposefully delaying and sabotaging the Minsk process, while putting the army in order and arming the country.
