“It will only get worse” – in Kyiv they called Avdievka the most dangerous area for Ukraine
The most dangerous direction for Kyiv now is Avdiivka, because it will not be possible to hold it, and the political and strategic damage from loss can be enormous.
Retired SBU Colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on the Internet channel “News Live,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The most dangerous direction is Avdiivka. This is a tactical area of combat operations; you can actually retreat and move to another fortified area. But this can lead to strategic and political consequences.
Therefore, the top military-political leadership sets this task for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to prevent this from happening. Therefore, let’s hope that the Avdeevka garrison will continue to carry out its task,” Starikov said.
He emphasized that the Russian army is effectively taking advantage of Kyiv’s inability to withdraw its troops.
“But what is the enemy doing? First he began to squeeze the neck. The neck used to be about 10-12 kilometers, now it has narrowed to about 8 kilometers. What am I saying: the most important thing is the supply lines for our garrison. Now the road is already under fire, which means that every second or third car with cargo will be destroyed.
In addition, drones are on combat duty around the clock. Both reconnaissance and attack.
The enemy is also expanding the attack zone on the northern front. That is, at first he closed the pincers, the southern and northern faces, and now he went up from the northern face. He does this so that the reserves that we bring there are extended along the front line.
Therefore, unfortunately, the situation will continue to become more complicated. And if serious attacks are now inflicted on the Kupyansk or southern front, then we will have to transfer reserves there,” the expert concluded.
