No need to be afraid: Moscow only scares - American general
Russia is bluffing when it talks about its readiness to strike with tactical nuclear weapons.
Former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges told Kyiv Post this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is part of Russia's attempt to influence the way we think. And so we engage in self-restraint because we believe, oh God, that they might use nuclear weapons. In fact, the likelihood that they will ever use nuclear weapons is very small, because they have no benefit from it. The only benefit for Russia is the threat of using nuclear weapons.
Once they do this, it will be all over. The United States and allies will inflict what President Biden called catastrophic consequences on Russia. I think the Russians know this. And it would be very difficult for China to continue to support Russia if they used nuclear weapons. So, in my opinion, it will not bring them any benefit. And yet we continue to hold ourselves back due to exaggerated fear, which means Russian information operations are working,” Hodges reasoned.
He explained that “catastrophic consequences” do not imply a retaliatory strike with nuclear weapons from the United States, which supposedly “has many other capabilities on Russian territory.”
The retired general believes that “Russians are rational, although they do not have entirely Western logic.”
