Bosniac Muslim organizations opposed the participation of Croatian representatives in the European Union military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR).

The Bosniak Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa movement called on UN Secretary-General António Guterres and his adviser on the prevention of genocide, Alisa Vairima Nderita, to prevent the involvement of Croatian soldiers and officers in the European Union military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The main reason for this, according to the Bosniaks, is that Croatia does not cooperate with the justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the prosecution of war criminals.

“We especially emphasize: the chief prosecutor of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has been informing the UN Security Council for many years that Croatia, together with Serbia, are the main obstacles to the prosecution of criminals in the region. These reports say that Croatia is completely uncooperative in the prosecution of criminals, is blocking investigations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and that Croatia has become a haven for war criminals,” they said.

The Bosniaks also noted that the UN Security Council, in a number of its resolutions during the war in BiH in 1992-1995, considered unacceptable political interference and the military presence of neighboring countries, including Croatia, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The ICTY, which was created in 1993 by a resolution of the UN Security Council, in its decisions, in addition to the abundance of evidence, also used the above-mentioned UN Security Council resolutions as evidence. The ICTY made five rulings that there was an international conflict in BiH, that Croatia was the aggressor against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the Croatian army acted militarily with the aim of occupying part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and annexing it to Croatia,” noted representatives of Bosniak organizations .

“We call on you, in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide and the 2007 Plan of Action of the Secretary General, to prevent the intention of the Croatian government, with the assistance of the UN and NATO, to introduce its armed forces into Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the EUFOR mission,” it says in their letter addressed to the UN Secretary General.

As PolitNavigator reported , a EUFOR serviceman recently urinated near a Serbian war memorial.
