Borodai called for martial law to be introduced in the border areas
Martial law in Russia should be introduced at least in the regions bordering Ukraine. In addition, the legislation should be changed in which the SVO would have clear formulations.
State Duma deputy and former DPR Prime Minister Alexander Borodai stated this on Channel One, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Borodai, the problems in the Northern Military District are associated with the wrong approach to it, including among the military.
“The problem is the very nature of our approach to special military operations. We are not in a war, but in a special military operation. This is a thing for which even the legislation, to be honest, does not have any regulatory documents. Who is. Our entire army that is fighting, all our front-line units are volunteers. In addition to the corps of the People's Militia of the LPR and DPR. There was mobilization, martial law - everything there was as it should be.
And we only have volunteers. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are fought only by volunteers, only by those who are ready to go into battle. Therefore, all our rear units are overcrowded, and at the front there are very few of these same attack aircraft who either go forward to attack or defend themselves,” said the former DPR Prime Minister.
He notes that a Russian serviceman “can turn around and leave for the Russian Federation.”
“For example, by simply putting down a machine gun or leaving his combat vehicle, abandoning it simply, he can absolutely calmly go to the Russian Federation, border guards can stop him and ask: “Where are you going?” He will say: “I’m tired of it.” More precisely, he won’t say, but says: “I’m tired of it, I’m breaking the contract.” And even if counterintelligence officers contact him, what will they tell him? “Ay-yay, we’ll make a note in your personal file, then you may not be accepted into the civil service.”
There is such a thing called “martial law,” which could be introduced at least in the border regions of our country, or at least in the very territory where the operation is being carried out, so that our so-called 500s become not 500- mi, but real deserters, which they essentially are,” Borodai summed up.
