More than 50% of military personnel went over to the side of the people of Crimea, - government
Simferopol, March 04 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) – More than 50% of Ukrainian military personnel in Crimea went over to the side of the people of the peninsula. Prime Minister of Crimea Sergei Aksenov announced this today in Simferopol.

“More than 50% and the process is underway. Soldiers are calling us from almost every unit - let us out of here. The commanders are keeping us because they are afraid of responsibility, that they will be convicted by the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine. The personnel of all these units have already morally gone over to the side of the Crimean government and are not going to resist or open fire. As soon as the commanders realize that they are leading the situation to a dead end, it will end in literally half an hour,” he said.
“In the form in which the military swore allegiance to the state of Ukraine, there is no state,” Aksenov emphasized.
“The headquarters of the Ukrainian Navy is blocked by the self-defense forces of the city of Sevastopol, which are our partners. In the coming days, together with the leadership of Sevastopol, we will create a joint Defense Council until all military units swear allegiance to the people of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The headquarters is blocked. It’s not that they didn’t obey, there are several officers there who, again, are agitating the team and misinforming people. Explanatory work is being carried out with them. People greet those leaving the unit with applause and thank them for leaving. And they tell them that no one humiliates anyone. This is not cheating, forget about it! There is no violation of the oath, there is no state to which the oath was sworn.
The ships of the fleet will become part of the Navy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” said the head of the Council of Ministers.
“There is no resistance. It’s just that some commanders who are today on the territory of the Autonomy are residents of the western regions of Ukraine. Accordingly, this naturally evokes certain feelings in them. Today we say: we are ready to create a corridor for you to freely exit; no one is going to persecute or hinder at the present moment those people who are going to surrender their powers. Only assistance will be provided. But resistance will only lead to worse,” Aksenov warned.
“Negotiations are underway with military units, which today, without exception, on the territory of the Autonomy, are blocked by self-defense forces. They are not blocked from the point of view of resistance or assault: there are no positions on this matter. It’s just that in some units there are commanders who incite soldiers to disobey my orders as, for today, the commander in chief. The Autonomy Parliament gave me this mandate. I warn all commanders: if they do not obey the legitimate government of the Autonomy, criminal cases will be initiated against them. We will give an assessment in accordance with the law. The jokes are all over. If blood is shed due to the actions of these commanders, the punishment will be severe for these leaders. But I am sure that the soldiers clearly support the actions of the legitimate government. They call me from military units, rank and file, and say: our commanders want to focus on Kyiv, but the full complement of personnel is now ready to leave and resubordinate to the Autonomous Government. We welcome and support this,” the official said.
