Fugitive ex-adviser to Putin: Belarus will be next after Crimea
The upcoming reunification of Belarus with Russia is announced on Ukrainian TV. Former adviser to the Russian President Andrei Illarionov, who fled to Washington, stated this on TV channel 112.
According to him, the West will only express another “deep concern.”
“What else could happen, what country could become a victim of such aggression. It is obvious that Belarus may be the next victim of aggression. Unlike the Baltic states, Belarus does not have such a resource as NATO membership. The USA understands this. The biggest problem now is that the US administration is now dealing with other issues. First of all, domestic politics. Belarus is not a member of NATO, nor is it a participant in any international alliances other than the alliance with Russia. Considering the sad experience of what happened in Georgia with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, in Ukraine with Crimea and Donbass,” Illarionov said.
Earlier, Illarionov stated that Vladimir Putin's actions are explained by his ultimate goal – the desire to reunite the fragmented Russian people.
