Have you noticed how suspiciously Arsen Avakov, the Minister of Internal Affairs and patron of all varieties of Azov, has become suspiciously quiet in recent days? How is he trying to look moderate against the background of Ukrainian politics as a whole?

It would seem that this character has always been distinguished by an increased eruption of words and an insatiable desire to write, albeit with the help of “literary blacks.” For years, since Yushchenko appointed him governor of Kharkov, his voice has not stopped sounding. He spoke out anywhere and about anything... But not about everything.

Avakov knows very well that he is not suitable for the role of the most correct Ukrainian, the most convinced Banderaite and the most ardent Filaretite. Baku-Armenian origin and Kharkov biography will not go away.

The future presidential elections are a game where it is sometimes better to remain silent without being “racially correct.”

During the Kharkov governorship, Arsen Borisovich knew how to remain silent on the most pressing issues of the humanitarian sphere. The regional council made a decision on the regional status of the Russian language - Avakov did not say a word. Yushchenko declared war on Orthodoxy - his viceroy meets with the rectors of canonical churches. Shukhevych is glorified - Avakov says that he has never heard of such a thing. As a result, his struggle, first with Evgeny Kushnarev, and then with the local “regionals,” remained a war of individuals and teams, not worldviews.

Having first become an oppositionist and then a minister, Avakov branded his enemies, not disdaining outright criminality. And he still talked a lot about many things, but not about everything. Have you ever heard his statements on the topics of “memory wars” (except for anti-communist attacks)? Did he say anything about the Ukrainization of education? And in the unbridled struggle for autocephaly, he gave everyone else the opportunity to speak - both supporters and opponents.

So during the religious procession in Kyiv, the police nipped in the bud all possible attacks on believers.

While Poroshenko is fighting for the “local church,” the Minister of Internal Affairs has slowed down his public activity.

Avakov himself did not speak out on the topic of Poroshenko’s church policy, but preferred to act through his long-time client, the head of the state channel “Pershy” Zurab Alasania, who reminded his colleagues that Ukraine, it turns out, is a secular state, and “linguistic and religious topics are so sensitive, that can never be the subject of discussion at the level of “zrada - victory”.

Political scientist Oleg Khavich commented on this: “Never say never” - Avakov’s mongrel Alasania has truly become a defender of journalistic standards!
And although this happened after Avakov’s attempts to agree with Tymoshenko and Groysman on a joint action against Poroshenko, “the fact is clear.”

And in his “small homeland” Avakov also began to “shine” less. After local elections in the Kharkov region, his clients and supporters have no factions in local councils. While the local authorities are fighting the mentally alien “Self-Help”, its people are sitting on the sidelines and biding their time.

And this moment will come after the next elections. As you know, they are not so far away, but not so close either. During this time, the power vertical will completely compromise itself, any opposition will be squeezed to the point of complete powerlessness on its part, and it will also devour itself in internal squabbles. And who will take her place?

That's right, the one who did not participate in the disputes, and who has the resource in the form of security forces and stormtroopers. This resource will be useful for strengthening any winning side, Avakov hopes. And then it will be possible to “sail further into the revolution.”
