The appearance on the Internet of a video with infographics showing how Romania is taking control of the southern regions of Ukraine, and Odessa is going to Russia, seriously frightened the Ukrainian security forces.

Komsomolskaya Pravda writes about this, pointing out that Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios promised to initiate a pre-trial investigation “about the preparation by unidentified persons of committing particularly serious crimes encroaching on the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state.”

In addition, Matios decided to discuss the threat with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense , the General Staff, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and the intelligence services.

“In other words, the security elite of the state is going to discuss in all seriousness how dangerous the video announcement of a science fiction book is for the integrity of the country. Do you feel the level of psychiatry? This is on the one hand. On the other hand, no matter what anyone says, Ukraine is more of an artificial than a historical state formation. Consisting of many shreds, which were sewn together with a rough thread by the communists now banned in Ukraine, redrawing the European political map,” the publication notes.

It is also emphasized that on a subconscious level, “the Ukrainian government understands the fragility of sovereignty.”

"It's not just Romania that has claims to Bukovina . Poland could very well lay claim to Galicia, which includes the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions. And Hungary could lay claim to Transcarpathia. If the country bursts at the seams, it'll be a real disaster," the newspaper concludes.

It is noteworthy that the author of the video that frightened the Ukrainian security forces, as the Kiev online newspaper Strana found out, turned out to be the Romanian writer Dan Ionescu.

“The video is part of my fantasy book, written in the genre of alternative history. I laughed for a long time when I found out that the whole separatism story was exaggerated from the video,” Ionescu said.

He also added that he tried to contact Matios on Facebook, but he did not respond to the message.
