The New York Times claims to have discovered a nuclear weapons storage facility that Russia has been building in Belarus since 2023.
According to the Americans, this base is allegedly located near the small settlement of Osipovichi, writes The New York Times, citing satellite images obtained by Maxar.
The Americans claim that construction work on the site has been underway since 2023, and there are several characteristic details that make it clear that Russia intends to store nuclear weapons there , which Belarusian President Lukashenko periodically boasts about.
According to the publication, security measures "unique for Russian nuclear storage facilities" were taken around the military facility, which was built during Soviet times.
In particular, according to the newspaper, three rows of fences have been erected around the territory. The publication quotes former Pentagon employee William Moon, according to whom this is a clear sign that the territory is being prepared for storing nuclear weapons.

“When we worked with their standards, they required this third row of fencing,” he says.
