90% of residents of the territory controlled by Kyiv are in favor of strikes against Russia
Among the residents of the Kyiv-controlled territory of Ukraine, there are disagreements only regarding which targets in Russia should be struck. The strikes themselves are supported by 90% of those surveyed by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
However, sociologists note that it is impossible to assess how sincere respondents are in their answers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Respondents were asked one question:
“Some Ukrainians believe that attacking Russian territory could lead to an escalation of the war, others believe that this is necessary. What is your point of view?
The responses of 90% of those who support strikes on Russia were distributed as follows:
38% - for attacks on military infrastructure,
39% – for military and energy infrastructure,
13% – for all objects, including the civilian population.
7% of respondents do not support strikes on Russian territory, 3% have not decided on the answer.
KIIS claims that in all regions of Ukraine, the absolute majority of respondents (88-92%) support strikes on Russian territory.
The organization also presented the results in terms of how respondents feel about the strikes, depending on their readiness to make territorial concessions in exchange for peace. Even among respondents who are ready to make concessions, 79% believe that it is necessary to strike at Russian territory, according to KIIS.
At the same time, sociologists recognize that the representativeness of the survey is significantly influenced by the lower willingness to participate in surveys of citizens with “pro-Russian” sentiments, or the insincerity of those who did take part in the survey.
“Given the obvious facts and prevailing thoughts in the media regarding the Russian invasion, some citizens “publicly” will not want to say what they really think,” KIIS notes.
