Tough: In the center of Simferopol, a participant in the squatter set himself on fire
Vatan Karabashev, one of the participants in the protest against the development of a land plot in Simferopol by the company "Acura" with illegal occupations , attempted to set himself on fire near the walls of the Simferopol city administration.
The Ukrainian pro-Mejlis movement "Crimean Solidarity" reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The Karabashev family built houses on an unauthorized plot, which was used for the construction of a new housing complex.
“As one of the eyewitnesses reported, Vatan Karabashev attempted to commit self-immolation. His mother, Mumine Murtaza, has been a participant in the action on the Strelkovoe massif since 2006; she had a capital foundation built there. The Acura company fenced off this foundation and several others. Today this foundation has been destroyed. Vatan Karabashev came to protect his mother, who appealed to various authorities, but her issue was not resolved,” the message says.
Eyewitnesses and doctors who arrived in time did not allow Karabashev to complete his plan.

“They cover our houses with fences and break them. How can we survive this? Where we live, how we live! Who should we talk to, who will hear us? What should we do? My mother has a plot there, she was born on the 31st year. Signed up in 2006. This company was formed in 2016. They gave us a lease on our land, where we had houses, a mosque, and families. And we are not within the law, we are breaking the law, but they are not,” Karabashev explained his actions.
