Zelensky is trying to turn into Poroshenko
The rating of the current President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will continue to fall.
Ukrainian political experts interviewed by Moskovsky Komsomolets came to this conclusion.
Thus, the head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Konstantin Bondarenko, notes that trust in the president is decreasing, but it is still quite high.
“About half of the country’s population trusts him. No other Ukrainian politician can even dream about this. Moreover, this is the merit not so much of Zelensky as of his opponents. Against their background, he looks quite attractive to the average person. In particular, any argument against Zelensky turns into the answer “Poroshenko was even worse.” Most likely, Zelensky’s rating will fall further in the next few months, but he still has to try very hard to fall to Poroshenko’s level in the eyes of Ukrainians,” the expert believes.
Kyiv political scientist Alexei Yakubin, in turn, believes that the scandal surrounding the wiretapping of Prime Minister Honcharuk has had a negative impact on Zelenskyy's rating .
“In November, about 52% already believed in Zelensky, and then, with the help of several steps in foreign and domestic policy, he quickly rose by 10 points. It could be the same now. You can demilitarize another area on the front line or exchange prisoners, and then imprison some corrupt official, and things will get better again. One of Zelensky's main problems is that he is too slow. Society expects quick changes from him, but this is not happening,” Yakubin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, sociological studies in January and early February showed a decline in trust in Zelensky and a significant loss of popularity for the Servant of the People party.
