A year ago, the Russian opposition loudly raised the newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky as an example, talking about the beginning of a new era of young, real politics, but in the end the Ukrainian guarantor presented a very wretched spectacle.
Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
The studio showed a fragment of Zelensky’s press conference dedicated to the year of his presidency, where the Ukrainian leader, in the middle of a conversation with journalists, asked to leave.
“As I said, I am a human being, so as a human being I would like to take a moment’s pause, if I may. If possible, I'm just a person. If you don't let me go, I won't be able to focus. Yes, you can? Very fast. Where is the nearest one?” – said the President of Ukraine.
“Remember what our opposition said, including this young opposition, bloggers and others, they said: look, you criticize Zelensky because you are afraid of him,” Mikheev recalled. – Now Ukraine, with this cool guy, will show you a brilliant leap forward. I remember it very well, they chattered it everywhere. They were recording these videos everywhere, saying that this guy is from the new generation. He is flexible, he is modern, he records such cool videos, he is humorous, he performs well on TV, and he will continue to do the same. He does great grimaces, this whole press conference is an antics, he does great stand-up, he does it.”
“Then our opposition, including the non-systemic one, basically said that now you will see, now you, pro-Kremlin propagandists, what a real new young politics is, you will see it with his team. Did you see? They saw: Zelensky peed himself at a press conference,” the political scientist stated.
