Zelensky is ready for compromises with Russia – Kiev political scientist
Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to Kyiv’s initiatives on Donbass.
This was stated in a commentary to Kommersant by the head of the Kyiv Institute of Applied Political Research "Penta" Vladimir Fesenko, who previously worked for the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, and now, according to available information, serves the interests of Vladimir Zelensky.

According to the political scientist, the Ukrainian president has to act within an “inflexible framework,” which explains the complexity of Zelensky’s position.
“He is sincerely willing to compromise. But on the one hand, Putin is not ready for this, and on the other hand, some Ukrainians are not ready. And Zelensky runs into restrictions on both sides,” the expert said.
At the same time, he claims that it was Zelensky who allegedly brought the peace process out of the deadlock.
“With his arrival there was a certain unfreezing. Exchanges, troop disengagement, a meeting in the Normandy format are moving forward,” says the political scientist.
At the same time, he believes that the coronavirus pandemic is comparable to the military problems that Petro Poroshenko faced at one time.
“Just as Poroshenko faced the situation of war, Zelensky faced the problem of quarantine and global consequences. This will ruin his presidency. We’ll see, very much or partially,” Fesenko concluded.
Zelensky is ready to compromise with Russia, according to a Kyiv political scientist.
