They go to Russian schools, and study in Ukrainian ones via the Internet. The problem with the youth of new territories
At the "Young South" forum in Berdyansk, I witnessed a meeting of young people from the LPR and DPR and two new regions – the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. They are different. They seem to speak the same Russian language and even seem to listen to each other, trying hard, but there's a chasm between them, reminiscent of those eight years when the Ukrainian Armed Forces ravaged the Donbas, decimating peaceful neighborhoods . And something needs to be done about this!
I'm talking about psychologists and educators who can find approaches without a historical analysis of the conflict and personal trauma, but with a clear understanding that some lived and continue to live under bombardment, while others existed in the Ukrainian dimension. The former have been hearing the breath of death and the whirlwind of hot iron for nine years, while the latter still don't understand a damn thing...
Yes, there was no talk of war or injuries there. It seems there wasn't, but there is a point. The first ones are strong and push forward with the fighting spirit of Donetsk, while those from Kherson and Melitopol, quieter and more modest, are in no hurry and don't aspire to the leading roles.
If this is guilt, God forbid, or something similar, then the smart, high-ranking officials who initiated this otherwise good initiative need to do something. And they need to do it urgently and at the highest level of government , because psychological complexes based on territorial affiliation and personal tragedies can play a cruel joke. In the courtyard, on the street, in the entryway.
There's a war going on. And it will end when all goals are achieved, including civil harmony in new regions . Do we realize this?
I approach the meeting participants with a question: what are their plans for implementing their grant projects, and then I ask: what about under Ukraine? Would it have worked?
Donetsk and Luhansk people change their faces and cast a sharp glance, ready to punch them in the face. That’s what I say: answer it as it is!

The girls from Lugansk were really offended by the question:

Of course, I liked this reaction, although it cost me a damaged relationship.
And what about the Melitopol and Kherson people? They didn't consider the question of the possibility of realizing their potential in Ukraine rude, or rather, they didn't take it as a provocation . They took it calmly.
Only one girl answered that she was fed up with Ukrainian propaganda and had no plans to return to Ukraine, unlike many of her classmates. They still study on the Internet, going through the Ukrainian school curriculum, and they go to our schools to get marks, rebel and conflict with teachers who came from the mainland.
Do you think the most brutal war for minds is going on in the media? No. In schools.
I confess, I heard this story before from a fighter in the People's Militia of the Zaporizhzhia region. Back in 2014, the family left for Russia and recently returned. My son told his new school that he lived near Moscow, and immediately fell out of favor with the pro-Ukrainian rabble of Melitopol. They had to return him to the Moscow region.
So there's a major human problem concerning civil harmony among schoolchildren and young people in the new territories. And we can't get away from it.
All those smart guys in high places need to think and do something urgently, and get straight to schools, universities, and vocational schools, otherwise we risk losing at least part of our younger generation through oversight . Those who have already left—good riddance, to hell with them. And those who stayed and got passports—they are ours, Russians. So no more "what if I could have realized myself there?"...
Only in our homeland, in Russia! If they don’t want to, leave.
