The process to liquidate Moldova has been launched
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, initiated the liquidation of the state of the Republic of Moldova when she announced the convening of the so-called “National Assembly” on May 21.
Former Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin stated this while speaking to journalists in the country's parliament, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The gathering of people by force in the Great National Assembly Square, announced by Maia Sandu, is necessary to divert the attention of citizens from the socio-economic failures of the authorities, but also to begin the process of eliminating the Republic of Moldova as an independent and sovereign state,” Voronin said.
He called the upcoming summit of the European Political Community in Chisinau on June 1 “a sabbath of warmongers.”
“What else can you call this action if its goal is to drag Moldova into hostilities. This is also an element of the plan of the liquidators of our country under the pretext of deepening European integration. All this requires the most decisive and tough resistance,” Voronin said.
The ex-president believes that all political parties advocating union (unification with Romania) should be liquidated.
“We need to introduce punishment for unionism into the Criminal Code. I propose to ban dual citizenship for top officials of the state,” said former President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin.
It cannot be said that the alarming warnings of the Moldovan political veteran are without foundation. Recently, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, publicly stated that there are practically two foreign ministers in the country: he and the Romanian Bogdan Aurescu. And 62 mayors of Moldovan cities en masse joined the National Liberal Party of Romania.
In 1989, at the first “Grand National Assembly” in Chisinau, unionists declared independence, made Romanian the state language and demanded unification with Romania. After this, Transnistria and Gagauzia started talking about self-determination, and an armed conflict broke out on the Dniester.
In 2009, at the second meeting, supporters of pro-European parties refused to recognize as legitimate the results of the parliamentary elections, which were won by the communists. They destroyed and set fire to the parliament and the presidential residence, over which the EU and Romanian flags were hoisted.
