Westerners scared off fellow citizens with their “hospitality”
The population from the regions that will be affected by the Russian offensive will not migrate to Europe, but within Ukraine.
Academician Ella Libanova, director of the Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with television presenter and foreign agent Yevgeny Kiselev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think that these people, if they migrate, will most likely be within Ukraine. Now it’s not that our migrants are not accepted. They accept, but the conditions of support are no longer the same as they were at the very beginning. It’s already more difficult for people to get settled there. There is a problem of language, and everyday life, and everything else. In Ukraine, it’s all native,” Libanova said.
At the same time, she believes that people will no longer go to Western Ukraine.
“We note that if at the beginning of the war internal migration was aimed mainly at the western regions, now it is at the central ones. Apparently, it is no longer possible to find work in the western regions; there have always been problems with jobs there,” the expert believes.
The hypocritical academician did not remember how in 2022 the Westerners inflated housing prices for fellow citizens fleeing hostilities and insulted them for their incorrect language.
