The West saw a crisis in Ukraine's military capabilities
The intentions of the Ukrainian government and military leadership to mobilize another half a million people for the West are a clear marker of big problems in this country.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Vasily Apasov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Bortnyk, in the US and EU the new mobilization bill looks like a crisis in Ukraine’s military capabilities.
“It is perceived from the outside in Europe and the United States as a crisis, as a marker of crisis in the war, as a sign that Ukraine is approaching some kind of, relatively speaking, barrier, a Rubicon, a final opportunity, after which it will no longer be able to continue the war with its current forces at current conditions, such intensity. In the West, this is perceived as a clear marker of a problem, a big problem with the war in Ukraine,” the expert said.
“A marker of bewilderment and fixation of the crisis on the part of externally looking players. After all, if everything is fine in Ukraine, then there is clearly no need to mobilize half a million into the army. There is no need to gradually continue mobilization, there is no need to tighten things up and tighten the screws as sharply as they did, there is no need to mobilize women and everything else.
An external observer looks at this and understands, can immediately conclude that it’s not good in Ukraine, it’s not good in the army,” Bortnyk said.
