The West has curtailed the scapegoat search scenario
The West is quite comfortable with the pre-election situation that is emerging on the eve of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
Political scientist Anton Finko announced this today at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Whichever candidate wins, he will have to take into account the position of the West. Western players are silently signaling that they are not against maintaining the current government. But they will not mind if another candidate loyal to external forces comes to power. This is what determines the sluggishness of the upcoming campaign,” Finko said.
He believes that if the West had implemented a different scenario, there would have been a sharp escalation of tension.
“Actually, this scenario was observed during the activity of the ex-president of Georgia, who was later expelled from Ukraine. A scenario was worked out in which the head of state was cast as the main villain, the scapegoat, the defendant for all corruption. In contrast to him comes a knight in shining armor, the savior of Ukraine. Now this scenario has been collapsed,” the political scientist noted.
In his opinion, the fact that the West does not want destabilization is evidenced by the release of information about the Russian business of oligarch Kolomoisky’s protege Vladimir Zelensky on a website affiliated with Radio Liberty.
“On the other hand, the West did not sanction a martial law situation that would have radically changed the situation. There they are not inclined to call the government a full-fledged sovereign,” he concluded.
The West has abandoned its scapegoating strategy.
