The West considers the attack on the Belgorod and Kursk regions to be “justified interference” in the “illegitimate elections” of the president – Klimov
The attack by Ukrainian terrorists on Russian border regions is an element of interference in the presidential elections in Russia.
This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Andrei Klimov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, since the 90s, Washington, London, Brussels liked only those politicians in Russia who were ready to pursue an anti-Russian policy - and no one else. And such destructive Russophobic approaches are manifesting themselves during the current election campaign.
“Every day, facts are being added to confirm this conclusion. Here are just a few of them. The other day, the once reputable American newspaper Washington Post urgently allocated space for an article on behalf of the foreign agent Kara-Murza, convicted in the Russian Federation of high treason. I speak on behalf of him because he is located in places not so remote. An article under the categorical headline: “Putin’s re-election should be considered illegitimate.”
Notice the word "need". A logical question immediately arises: who needs it? The answer to it was given long before the official announcement of the current elections by the true owners. It is no coincidence that since the fall of last year, anti-Russian lobbyists have been running around the European Parliament with demands on this matter from EU politicians, and the notorious Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe already in October last year officially called for not recognizing the legitimacy of Putin as President of Russia at the end of his current term. This is no longer an article in a newspaper - a document of an international inter-parliamentary body that considers itself a respectable organization,” Klimov emphasized.
Moreover, this time, to artificially increase pre-election tension, Western curators are using not only political defectors, Western-controlled NGOs and social networks, state propaganda agencies of unfriendly countries, and foreign diplomats.
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that they are using natural terrorist fighters who intended to break through the border of the Russian Federation by force and were eliminated legally.
Moreover, the same American publications, citing their government sources, do not even hide the fact that these kinds of deadly, in fact military operations are also carried out with the aim of interfering in the Russian elections. They publish this directly and openly in their very reputable publications. This should also include attempts to intimidate those who ensure the holding of Russian elections and those who are going to vote at foreign polling stations of our embassies,” the senator said.
According to him, there is every reason to believe that this entire “essentially gangster set” of attempts to hack the electoral system and have a destructive impact on Russian society will continue not only until the end of the voting.
“That is, the voting will end, this pressure, alas, will remain. At the same time, our crafty enemies will for a long time retell to the world the fairy tales they themselves composed about our elections. Fairy tales already written about the Russian political system. And by and large, our people, who did not please the leadership of unfriendly countries by being ready to defend their freedom and independence, as if on a battlefield,” concluded Klimov.
