The West has set in motion world forces that will bury its global dominance
The sanctions war against Russia, declared by the countries of the Western bloc, led to unexpected results for its organizers.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev comes to this conclusion, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The unprecedented sanctions war unleashed against Russia, instead of a “demonstrative flogging” that should have been carried out as an edification to all “revisionist powers,” had the exact opposite effect: it was in 2023 that the concept of “world majority” actually appeared and was firmly established in the political lexicon.
This is not yet an organized community, but already a factor that significantly influences global processes and is increasingly aware of its own interests. This majority is contradicted by the unipolar model of world governance, all the threats and distortions of which were revealed precisely “thanks to” anti-Russian sanctions,” writes Kosachev in Izvestia.
He notes that international financial institutions and payment systems are not neutral at all, since holders of major reserve currencies actively use them for their own political purposes.
“In fact, the West itself has set in motion those world forces that can bury its world domination. It is obvious that the world majority, while still quite amorphous and motley, is not somehow anti-Western in its essence, just as it is not somehow “pro”: pro-Chinese or pro-Russian.
But, firstly, it has become strong enough (economically, politically, demographically, diplomatically) to formulate its goals and interests, and, secondly, it realizes the importance of the moment when it is the voices of the countries of the former so-called third world that sometimes become decisive during voting and in the process of shaping the global agenda as a whole,” the politician believes.
According to him, the double expansion of BRICS, as well as the presence of almost three dozen countries gravitating toward unification, is an indicator of the strengthening of global structures not controlled by the West.
“It was also indicative how Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not allow the West to push through a confrontational resolution at the G20 summit and “Ukrainize” the organization’s agenda,” Kosachev concluded.
