The West is scared: Ukraine is heading towards defeat in the war
A shortage of ammunition and manpower threatens the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a collapse of the front, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent , as international affairs expert Cenk Tamer writes on the website of the Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Center (ANKASAM).
He points out that a number of influential Western media have published materials saying that Ukraine is heading towards defeat.

The fact that Ukraine lacks the manpower, equipment and ammunition to hold the front line against Russia suggests that the front may soon collapse. As the battlefield situation gradually shifts in Russia's favor, the West may be forced to make radical new decisions,” Tamer writes.
He believes the most optimistic outcome is that Western allies will quickly increase their military support for Ukraine. The most pessimistic outcome is the sudden collapse of a significant part of the Ukrainian defensive lines.
“Otherwise, Russia is unlikely to make any serious progress in the foreseeable future. However, Russia's doubling down on attacks on Ukraine's critical industries and infrastructure appears to be a strategy aimed at completely destroying the country's defense capabilities. The emerging picture is that Ukraine is heading towards losing the war. Although President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine is trying to find a way to hold its ground, military officials acknowledge that further losses this summer are inevitable.
The expert predicts that due to “the depletion of Ukrainian forces’ ammunition and air defense capabilities, many Ukrainian cities are expected to fall soon,” but points out that there is a third option.
“Both factors played a role. In other words, both the strategy failed and the equipment was inadequate. Another important factor is the actions of the Russian army. All these factors suggest that 2024 has reached a turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian war. It is clear that the Western world needs a new strategy for fighting in Ukraine. If the Ukrainian issue is not resolved, it will accelerate the process of disintegration of the West from within,” warns Tamer.
