The West is afraid of Ukraine’s victory – American general
The West fears Ukraine's victory in the confrontation with Russia, because it does not know what to do in this case. In addition, the US leadership is afraid of the conflict escalating into a nuclear one.
Former US Army Europe Commander Ben Hodges stated this on DW, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They need the US President, the German Chancellor, the British Prime Minister and the French President to say that 'we want Ukraine to win.' There is no clear strategic outcome outlined by Western leaders. We didn't say we wanted them to win - we said "we'll be with you as long as it takes," which is a completely meaningless statement.
Or we said that we want Russia to lose, and then you will hear someone say: “Well, they have already lost strategically, so none of this helps Ukraine,” the general said.
“So my president has to say that our desired strategic outcome is such and such. They don't. I think it's because they are concerned about the use of nuclear weapons. I think China plays a role in this, and I think the White House people are almost afraid of winning. For example, what will happen if Ukraine wins? They can’t control it, so Ukraine needs it,” Hodges said.
