FSB officers came to detain Svetlana Davydova, a resident of the city of Vyazma, Smolensk region, on the morning of January 21. As her husband Anatoly Gorlov said, at about 8:30 the local police officer rang the doorbell and said that the neighbors were complaining about the noise. Ms. Davydova’s sister and three children also live in the apartment with the spouses, and the accused herself has four of them, she gave birth to the last one recently. When the husband opened the door, operatives led by investigator of the 1st department of the investigative department of the FSB of the Russian Federation Mikhail Svinolup entered the apartment. He said that a criminal case N221-601 has been opened against Ms. Davydova under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Treason”). According to the investigation, in April 2014, she reported to the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow about the movement of employees of military unit N48886, located on the same 1st Boznya Street as Ms. Davydova’s house. The 82nd separate radio engineering brigade of the Order of Alexander Nevsky of the GRU is stationed in this unit.
Svetlana Davydova was transported to Moscow, where on January 22, the judge of the Lefortovo court, Elena Galikhanova, decided to arrest her. Svetlana Davydova’s husband does not deny that she contacted the Ukrainian Embassy. “At some point, Svetlana noticed that the military unit under our windows was empty, and this seemed suspicious to her,” says Mr. Gorlov. Then she met a military unit employee in a minibus, whom she knew by sight. He was in civilian clothes and loudly discussed on the phone “the transfer in small groups to Moscow, and from there further.” “She thought that we could talk about sending her to Donetsk,” said the husband of the arrested woman.
The criminal prosecution of Svetlana Davydova is being carried out according to amendments to Article 2012 of the Criminal Code adopted in October 275 by the State Duma, which provides for 12 to 20 years in prison.
