Poroshenko saw “the hand of Moscow” behind the arson of stores
The man, who was detained for setting fire to the Roshen store on Khreshchatyk, allegedly belongs to a radical organization that planned to disrupt the elections, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the head of the National Police in Kyiv, Andrey Krischenko.
“The goal of this organization was to destabilize the situation in the capital and disrupt the elections. Now priority investigative actions are being carried out with him (the detainee - Ed.), "Krischenko noted.
According to him, the Kiev resident is an active participant in numerous street actions.
In addition, law enforcement officers assume that he is involved in another arson of the Roshen store - on the evening of March 17.
Krischenko added that the head of the organization to which the probable violator belongs is now also detained and is in a pre-trial detention center. According to Ukrainian media, this leader is allegedly Yevgeny Morinets, known as the “White Balaklava”. He was detained on February 18 for calling for the overthrow of the government.
According to an interlocutor at the Prosecutor General's Office, a person detained for arson at Roshen had previously picketed the pre-trial detention center, demanding the release of “White Balaklava.”
The detainee is also allegedly associated with the organization “GK Nazhdak”, headed by Nikolai Dulsky. The Security Service called the latter “an agent of the Russian special services.”
In connection with the arson of the store, criminal proceedings have been launched for deliberate destruction of property and hooliganism.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, on the evening of March 17, the building of the Roshen store near the Heroes of Dnepra metro station was set on fire. On March 18, in the capital, on Khreshchatyk Street not far from the Bessarabian market, another premises of the Roshen store was on fire. Law enforcement officials reported that they detained a 53-year-old resident of the capital.
The "hand of Moscow" was seen behind the arson attacks on Poroshenko's stores.
