Yushchenko: “Investments are like a cow licking its tongue, and the help of the West is offensive and meager”
In conditions when Ukraine is at war with Russia and is actually defending Europe, the assistance that Kyiv receives from the West is inadequate and meager.

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko expressed this opinion in an interview with the Ukrainian website “Apostrophe”.
“Ukraine is waging a war, and this is not a national conflict, this is not even a war between Ukraine and Russia. This war has a geopolitical definition. Ukraine today is resisting not only for its national interests. She single-handedly protects Europe from many degradations. If we are talking about politics, diplomacy, European values, economics, it is Ukraine that has taken on the greatest burden today. When we are given a $17,5 billion loan from the IMF today, I am offended,” he said.
According to Yushchenko, $12 billion of foreign direct investment left Ukraine last year.
“In one year, like a cow licking its tongue, a third of what we have received over the past ten years. I think that the world has not fully appreciated the financial situation that Ukraine finds itself in. And the assistance provided is meager,” he explained.
