Gas explosion on the roof of a house in Crimea caught on video
On Saturday afternoon in the city of Shchelkino in eastern Crimea, 2 gas cylinders exploded on the roof of a nine-story building during roof repair work, in violation of fire safety rules, and bitumen materials caught fire.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There was a serious threat of repeated explosions and the spread of fire, since there were another 16 cylinders and building materials on the roof. Fire department employees evacuated the residents of the house and also removed the remaining cylinders. Thanks to prompt and coordinated actions, firefighters managed to localize and extinguish the fire in the shortest possible time. There were no casualties or fatalities. The fire area was 12 square meters,” said Minister Sergei Shakhov.
