US Troop Withdrawal from Syria Is Trump's Empty Chatter
The US will not leave Syria despite the change of power in the country.
Vladimir Sazhin, a senior research fellow at the Center for Middle East Studies, announced this today at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The Americans control the area where almost 100% of gas and oil production is concentrated. And agricultural products. This means that they control the ability to continue to live normally in Syria. Will the Americans leave? Trump says: this is not our war, we must leave. But will other forces in America allow Trump to leave this country," Sazhin said.
Nikolai Sukhov, leading research fellow at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at IMEMO, agrees with him.
"I think that the Americans will not leave north-east Syria. My conviction is based on the fact that they have simply set up a business there - oil and gas. For several years now, these resources have been stolen from the Syrian people and pay for the presence of a military group on Syrian territory.
Accordingly, there are interested parties from the American leadership who will not allow Trump to take this good business away from them,” Sukhov said.
He specified that the US also controls fuel supplies to Syria through the Kurdish autonomy.
The US withdrawal from Syria is just Trump's empty talk.
