“We will no longer jump higher than the Istanbul agreements” – ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine
Ukraine will no longer be able to obtain better conditions for ending the war than were written in the Istanbul Agreements.
Former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2022, the Ukrainian delegation went to Istanbul, and their initials are under this agreement. And Putin is now waving this agreement, and he publicly says that this agreement is the basis for further negotiations with Ukraine, with the condition of new territorial gains.
That is, everything that was written there was a NATO ban, non-aligned status, a small army, no international military cooperation, the army would be reduced by more than ten times, and so on. He considers all this to be an already achieved basis; he just needs to decide on the territories that he will still capture. He’ll break his teeth,” Lutsenko said.
"And the authorities understand that this is exactly how it will be. Foreign Minister Prystaiko says this: if these guys signed there, that will always be the zero point for all negotiations with Russia. We won't be able to go beyond that ," the former prosecutor concluded.
