A military analyst spoke about the prospects of a strike to the rear of the Avdiivka group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Without the liberation of Avdiivka, it is impossible to stop the barbaric shelling of the capital of the DPR by Ukrainian artillery.
Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov stated this, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.
He emphasized that the DPR has now seen successes of the allied forces in a number of areas.
“The republic’s military managed to occupy part of the village of Peski on the outskirts of Donetsk. The powerful fortified area of the Ukrainian Federal University built there remained a stumbling block in all previous years. The complete clearing of Peskov will be no less significant a victory than the capture of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant,” the analyst told Izvestia.
He predicts that the next most important direction will be Avdeevskoe.
“Without the capture of Avdiivka, it is impossible to stop the indiscriminate shelling of Donetsk by cannon artillery of the Ukrainian armed forces. Most likely, it will not be stormed head-on, through the most fortified areas of defense.
This is where successes in the “Donbass Bulge”, in the area of Soledar and Bakhmut, will come in handy. After their liberation, the allied group will be able to hit this strong fortified area in the rear and, under the threat of encirclement, force the AFU to leave it, as was done in Severodonetsk and Lisichansk,” believes Boltenkov.
