Pentagon: SVO does not hinder Russia from developing the Arctic
The activity of strategic competitors in the Arctic ranks high on the Pentagon's list of priorities.
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Arctic and Global Resilience Iris Ferguson stated this at a conference at the Atlantic Council, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"We see that Russia, despite the invasion of Ukraine, is investing heavily in the Arctic region. They want to protect their assets there, but they are also interested in demonstrating that they are capable of threatening our homeland," Ferguson said.
She also noted China's attempts to gain a foothold in the Arctic and its rapprochement with Russia in the military sphere.
