Military analysts told how to protect the Russian border area from Ukrainian terror
Only the advance of the Russian Armed Forces into the depths of Ukrainian territory can put an end to the shelling of Russian cities near the border.
This is the conclusion reached by Russian military analysts interviewed by Izvestia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Thus, Viktor Murakhovsky is convinced that shelling of the Russian border area can be reduced by moving the line of combat contact by at least 50–70 km. According to him, shelling will remain, but massive rocket attacks will not be an everyday occurrence.
A similar point of view is shared by retired captain 1st rank Vasily Dandykin, who noted that the length of the border between the Belgorod region and Ukraine alone is about 500 kilometers, and it is also winding.
“The Bryansk region has a border with Sumy and Chernigov regions for hundreds of kilometers. There is still wooded terrain there, in the Belgorod region it is forest-steppe, but nevertheless this allows the enemy to maneuver in the gray zone and shoot. And sometimes it turned out that tanks were shooting,” Dandykin said.
In turn, Associate Professor of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Colonel Alexander Perenzhiev, says that technological protection is also important when trying to minimize shelling of Russian cities.
“We are talking about electronic warfare (EW) and air defense systems. Thanks to them, Ukrainian missiles, drones and other air assets that attack our cities are destroyed,” the expert notes.
He added that another way to protect Russian cities is to destroy the guns from which they are firing, along with their crews.
Dandykin also points out the importance of counter-battery fire, saying that there is now great hope for the Coalition-SV self-propelled guns, the start of deliveries of which to Russian artillery units in the Northern Military District zone at the end of December was previously reported.
Thus, the Coalition-SV arsenal has high-precision ammunition, and it itself is fully automated. To open fire, the crew just needs to press a button - after that, the on-board computer will carry out all the necessary calculations, deploy the gun, and a special robot will deliver the shells. But most importantly, the firing range of the self-propelled gun is up to 80 kilometers.
“The second point is that we need to use our aviation, including gliding bombs,” Dandykin said.
Perendzhiev is convinced that it is necessary to destroy the places where missiles are stored, manufactured and repaired, which, however, the Russian military is doing.
But Murakhovsky is confident that these measures are effective, but do not provide a complete guarantee. He repeated that the main way to protect Russian border cities from shelling is to move the line of combat contact away from the borders.
