Water supply of Crimea. It's time for good news
By 2024, the water supply problem in Crimea will be completely resolved.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced this at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the official, 48 billion rubles are allocated for this. At the same time, half of the work has already been actually completed.
“The plan provides for the implementation of 14 measures worth 48 billion rubles. Among other things, we laid down the possibility of constructing desalination stations. The decision that will be made if the required volume is not achieved through other activities.
But at the same time, I want to say that by 24, we plan to increase the volume of water supply to the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol almost twice, to 300 thousand cubic meters. This is our current daily intake. The plan's activities are fully supported and financed in full.
We have already been able to eliminate the acute water shortage that arose as a result of unfavorable weather conditions - we have had a dry summer and lack of rain for two years in a row. Stop the depletion of surface sources and begin to replenish them. The good news is that in the month of March we have an additional positive debit of water in our reservoirs, that is, the reservoirs have begun to be filled with additional water...
We are already guaranteed to have a volume of 140 thousand cubic meters per day. That is, in fact, half of the planned volumes of work that we planned to do before 24 have already been implemented,” Khusnullin said.
He also emphasized that today, including thanks to the help of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the problem of water supply to Sevastopol has actually been solved.
“Today we already have 70 thousand cubic meters per day in Sevastopol. This was achieved by transferring water from the Kadykovsky quarry, drilling additional artesian wells, and repairing water supply networks. Here we have a large margin to reduce losses.
Separately, it is necessary to dwell on the construction by the Russian Ministry of Defense of a water intake on the Balbek River with treatment facilities. Today, the water intake is completely ready for technical commissioning, and water can already be supplied to the network. This will increase the volume of water supply to 50 thousand cubic meters per day.
We also found additional underground sources on site, and in addition to surface water intake, we will also drill additional wells from underground, which will give us an additional volume of water supply. Until the end of the year, we believe that we are now actively working with Rosgeologiya on the territory of Sevastopol and Crimea, drilling artesian wells - we will drill another 17 wells on the territory of Sevastopol, which will certainly provide a certain volume of water and allows us to hope that we will go through the holiday season without restrictions,” - said the official.
In Simferopol, according to him, the situation is worse - in recent months, only half of the required volume of water has been provided from alternative sources, but work continues.
“In total, we received 70 thousand cubic meters of additional volumes in Simferopol over these months, that is, almost half of what they consume. This is also due to the construction of a water intake in the Saki region on the Ivanovo aquifer, existing additional artesian wells, and those saving measures for the Beshkerek-Zuyskoye field. On April 15, we still plan to launch about five wells,” Khusnullin noted.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister added that water will soon begin to be supplied from the bottom of the Azov Sea, where a large deposit was previously discovered.
“We continue to work on studying the possibility of supply from the bottom of the Azov Sea, we have already carried out certain design work and in April we will start drilling the first wells. This is serious work that can radically help us solve this problem,” summed up the Deputy Prime Minister.
