The current clinch between Republicans and Democrats in the United States could worsen if the conflict in Ukraine is frozen and the Joe Biden administration misses the opportunity to shift attention to the external “Russian threat.”

Ex-Ambassador-at-Large of the US State Department Stephen Sestanovich made this clear in his speech at the Kiev Security Forum, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Freezing the stalemate in the war will lead to a political crisis in the United States. If this war is frozen, a more serious crisis will begin in the political life of the United States,” Sestanovich said.

He emphasized that a victory over Russia could improve the situation.

“After such a political crisis, when the United States comes out of this stalemate, we will see a revival, we will see a revival of traditional politics,” the diplomat ranted.
