Vice Speaker of the Rada: Schools, hospitals and kindergartens are under threat of freezing
Ukrainian schools, kindergartens and hospitals are forced to buy too expensive gas for heating.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent , Vice Speaker Elena Kondratyuk announced this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada's conciliation council.
According to her, as of September, citizens' debt for consumed housing and communal services amounted to more than 62 billion hryvnia.
“Many people from the regions contact me regarding breaking gas supply contracts, misunderstanding how to start the heating season due to the lack of contracts with Naftogaz. For example, due to the lack of contracts in the Kiev region, medical institutions, kindergartens and schools are forced to go to open auction and buy gas for 40 hryvnia. In the Sumy region we are talking about 47 hryvnia for schools. There are no compensators allocated in the budget,” the vice speaker said.
She called for these issues to be included on the Rada's agenda for consideration.
Let us note that the price of gas for the population in Ukraine starts from 7,9 hryvnia per cubic meter, that is, Kyiv and Sumy schools are forced to overpay five to six times.
