Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to allocate an additional 400 million rubles to the government of Sevastopol to solve the problem of providing housing to former military personnel.

At a meeting of the head of state with the public in Simferopol, a representative of the Association of Reserve Military Personnel of Sevastopol, Vadim Gutsan, complained to Putin that the government of Sevastopol was formally implementing the presidential decree on the allocation of housing, providing instead of square meters a subsidy, which was not enough to purchase apartments.

“The decree, the implementation of which is entrusted to the government of Sevastopol, apparently was not understood entirely correctly in the government of Sevastopol, and instead of providing us with housing, they offer us social support measures in the form of a certificate.

Everything would be fine, but the cost of this certificate is calculated at 46 thousand per square meter, but in fact our price is 62 thousand... We are offered to pay this difference, which is not enough, on our own, using mortgages and loans,” Gutsan said.

After this, Putin asked the Chairman of the Government of Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, about the amount that the city budget lacks to completely solve the problem: “In this case, it was a subsidy for military personnel that was provided, and not the actual provision of housing. If under the “emergency housing” category we had to buy housing de facto, then here we provided it in the amount that was determined in accordance with the decree - 42 thousand, the cost per square meter. If we now adopt regulatory changes in federal legislation, we can highlight our regional component. Because de facto we will receive these funds from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation,” Ovsyannikov said and said that the government lacks 400 million rubles for this.

“We will find this money, we will determine the source, we will help you. We will solve this problem,” Putin promised.
