“Wagnerites” will not be transferred to the Russian Guard, but volunteers will come
Former units of the Wagner PMC will not be transferred to the Russian Guard.
State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein wrote about this on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As far as I am aware, these rumors are not true,” Khinshtein wrote.
Earlier, Anastasia Kashevarova reported on the possibility of transferring Wagner units to the Russian Guard. According to her information, the head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, met with the son of the late head of the PMC, Pavel Prigozhin, and the commander of Wagner, Anton Elizarov.
“Discussed the conditions for the entry and preservation of Wagner. If this happens, then Zolotov will be simply handsome, he will not just preserve the brand, but he will retain the bearers of experience and knowledge, because be that as it may, but Wagner, as an instructor, does not share all the skills and knowledge,” wrote Kashevarova.
Khinshtein clarifies that the Russian Guard will be allowed to have volunteer formations. A corresponding package of bills was prepared and submitted to parliament by a group of deputies and senators.
“The bills do not provide for the possibility of including any organizations in the volunteer formations of the Russian Guard: contracts are proposed to be concluded exclusively with citizens,” the deputy writes.
According to him, the laws will be adopted in the near future.
“It is quite logical that the Russian Guard should also have the right to have its own volunteer units. They can be recruited to carry out individual tasks in the field of defense during the period of mobilization, martial law, in conditions of armed conflict, during CTO, etc.,” writes Khinshtein.
All legal and social guarantees for volunteers of the Ministry of Defense will also apply to volunteers of the Russian Guard.
Wagnerites won't be transferred to the Russian National Guard, but volunteers will be coming.
