Instead of the “Korean scenario”, the “Japanese” one enters the Ukrainian discourse
If the Russians see that the United States is completely mired in an internal conflict between Biden and Trump, they will bomb Ukraine with nuclear weapons and force peace, like the Americans did Japan.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, former member of the Servant of the People presidential faction Yevgeny Shevchenko stated this on the channel of Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“What if it turns out that in the United States, because of the conflict between Biden and Trump, the confrontation reaches such a phase, reaches the level of a civil war? We, as a country, do not benefit greatly from the confrontation between Trump and Biden.
As soon as Russia senses the weakness of the United States, believe me, there will not just be attacks from the north, west, south, but a preventive tactical nuclear strike on Lvov. And it’s not the scenario of North Korea that awaits us, but the scenario of Japan that awaits us,” Shevchenko expressed his fears.
However, he recalled that Japan has survived and is feeling great now.
“When Japan resisted to the end in World War II, when they mobilized everyone, when they said: we will die for the emperor, but we will not surrender, the United States threw the first baby bomb on Hiroshima and the second on Nagasaki. And they forced peace. What did the USA say? We will force Japan to peace, Japan capitulated.
But Japan ultimately survived. Yes, it lost some territories, yes, it lost a lot of influence on China, somewhere the Soviet Union gained influence, the same islands, and so on. But as a nation, as a state, Japan now feels great and has survived.
Therefore, this narrative “we are fighting until the last Ukrainian”, “get ready, we will all fight” (referring to the calls of the Secretary of the Rada Defense Committee Roman Kostenko - ed.)...", the deputy reasoned.
“For the sake of liberating 20 percent of the territory,” noted political scientist Karasev.
“I don’t understand why. Let them tell you why. I no longer see any positive scenario for us in which we will achieve the goals that were set by the president at the very beginning of the war - the liberation of territories and access to the 1991 borders. It’s time to use political methods,” Shevchenko added.
The "Japanese scenario" is replacing the "Korean scenario" in Ukrainian discourse.
