In Sevastopol, deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved three out of four deputies for Menyailo
Sevastopol, January 27 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – The Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol agreed on three out of four deputy governors. Consideration of one of them was postponed until the next session due to the absence of the candidate in the city.

During the regular session, the Legislative Assembly agreed on three candidates for the position of city governor, whom Sergei Menyailo personally presented to the deputies. They were: Alexey Eremeev, who will continue to deal with issues of financial and economic policy in the government of Sevastopol; Alexander Pushkarev – Deputy for Social Protection of the Population of Sevastopol; and Igor Shapovalov, who headed the department for the development of new projects in the government.
Deputies postponed the candidacy of the fourth candidate for the position of deputy for municipal affairs, Denis Dobryakov, until the next session due to the fact that Dobryakov is currently in Moscow for a meeting.
At the same time, the head of the city, Sergei Menyailo, introducing his deputies, especially noted that each of them had already worked in similar positions. In particular, Alexey Eremeev was the former Deputy Minister of Finance of the Moscow Region, in the government of Sevastopol he was involved in financial and economic policy, and Denis Dobryakov was the deputy head of the city of Rybinsk for urban affairs.
Introducing Igor Shapovalov, the governor noted that his appointment “may come as a surprise” to someone, apparently due to the fact that the new deputy previously headed the Agency for Strategic Development of Sevastopol, which the townspeople strongly associate with the head of the Legislative Assembly, Alexei Chaly. According to Menyailo, “the time has come to create a separate body in the government” that will develop new projects. The department of the new deputy chairman will include issues of building a new city economy, development of industry, agriculture, tourism and the IT industry.
“Each of these candidates, at one time or another, held these positions in difficult times for all of us,” Menyailo said, asking deputies to vote on the basis of “professional and business, not personal qualities.”
“I worked with them, I recommend them, I also have to work with them and be responsible for their work, including to you,” Menyailo said.
“I can characterize them as professional, decent, honest and conscientious people. Those who did not meet these criteria, some of them are no longer there, and little by little we are clearing our ranks,” he added.
It is worth noting that just the other day, some Sevastopol media reported that criminal cases had been opened against two former deputy governors of Sevastopol - Andrei Atamantsev and Andrei Poznyakov, which, however, Sergei Menyailo himself categorically denied at a briefing on Monday.
“I don’t know that such criminal cases have been initiated, although due to my position, since I head the Security Council, I should have been the first to know about this,” Sergei Menyailo answered the question, linking such statements in the media with the work of the “fifth columns” interested in destabilizing the situation in the city.
