The second “Comet” arrived in Sevastopol
Dry cargo ship RM-3 delivered to Sevastopol a new hydrofoil vessel for sea passenger transportation, “Kometa 120M”.
It was manufactured at the Vympel shipyard in Rybinsk and launched on August 14. It was then loaded onto the RM-3 and sent to Sevastopol, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Vympel plant is part of the Kalashnikov concern. Earlier, the head of the concern, Vladimir Dmitriev, stated that in 2019 in Crimea, two hydrofoil ships “Kometa” would be laid down at once at the Feodosia plant “More”.
In 2018, the first Comet cruised between Yalta and Sevastopol from August 1 to September 30. The average load of flights was 99%, the ship carried about 23 thousand passengers, which is 16% higher than planned.
In July 2019, Comet carried more than 10,7 thousand passengers. This is 20% higher than planned. The average load on all flights was 90%.
On the Yalta-Sevastopol route, 5 thousand 627 passengers used the services of Comet, which is 10,4% higher than the passenger traffic on the Sevastopol-Yalta route.
In total, 20046 passengers have been transported since the beginning of summer; the average load of the Comet over two months was 81%.
