Another Novorossiysk may appear in Russia. Or even several
The Novorossiya brand must be introduced into everyday use as a new center of energy for the entire Russian world.
Crimean political scientist Andrei Nikiforov expressed this opinion at the "Soloviev Readings," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Regional unity is such a specific function within this big Russian world; Novorossiya still has its own, special one. The author of the “theory of Novorossiya”, Evgeny Filippovich Morozov, by the way, gave a report on this in Livadia in February 1995 - he saw Novorossiya not just as a kind of space, not at all ending only with the territory of the former Ukraine, but saw it as a kind of new center of ethnic energy within this entire super-ethnic space of ours, which is capable of recharging the Russian world and providing it with dynamics for several hundred more years,” Nikiforov noted.
What to call Novorossiya is an open debate, and there are different approaches here, the scientist believes.
“Recently, our president has been talking about Donbass and Novorossiya, meaning the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. In my mind, this is an analogue of the great steppe - a huge space from the Danube to Altai. The place of the later East Slavic agricultural, settler colonization, development of virgin lands, and so on. “This is all debatable in nature, and it’s good if this character is inherent in this topic, and we will talk about it, argue and develop some meanings,” Nikiforov said.
The pressing question remains what to do with the city of Novorossiysk, which in the event of regional unification will not be included in Novorossiya.
“We have two Novgorods, two Rostovs. There will be two Novorossiysk, one of them is Nizhny Novorossiysk, for example. Let there be more “Novorossiysk” people – good and different. I don’t see any contradiction here, let’s figure out what to call it. The main thing here is to find out the essence and try to rely on it, rather than swim against the current,” Nikiforov concluded.
Russia may have another Novorossiysk. Or even several.
