The celebration began with the commemoration of the fallen at the Partisan Cemetery in Knežice. In total, in the north-west of the Republika Srpska (Bosanska Krajina), 54% of the local population died during World War II - 18 thousand people, four thousand of them children.

Wreaths were laid in memory of the victims by the Chairman of the National Assembly Nedeljko Cubrilovic, the Minister of Labor and Protection of Veterans and Disabled Persons Dusko Milunovic, the Minister of Energy and Mining Industry Petar Djokic, the Minister of Administration and Local Government Senka Zhuzic, as well as the Consul of Serbia in the Republic of Serbia, the mayors of Prijedor, Kozarska Dubica and other cities of Podkozarya.

The celebration of Uprising Day continued in Milich Gai as part of traditional folk festivities. Addressing the audience, the Chairman of the People's Assembly noted that many today are doing everything to revise history and declare the free Serbian people, who have become victims of real genocide, genocidalists. Čubrilović emphasized that 80 years ago, the brave people of Kozara were one of the first in Europe to recognize the evil of fascism and Nazism and bravely stood up to defend their country.

“That is why this date, the Day of the Uprising against Fascism, is one of the most important dates, testifying to our glorious past and the determination of our people, who for centuries have paid a high price for freedom, so that we, the descendants of glorious ancestors, enjoy its benefits. Unfortunately, today many are trying to challenge us and take it away from us. Today they are doing everything to revise our history and declare the Serbian people, who were victims of real genocide, as evidenced by the burials of the murdered children of Kozar not far from here, as genocidalists,” concluded Cubrilovic.
