The German parliament postponed for a week the consideration of a bill designed to remove the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from the scope of European energy legislation, which is supposedly a big victory for Ukrainian diplomats.

Chairman of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov stated this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of Verkhovna Rada committees, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Last week there was a very important event, and, fortunately, there was no vote in the Bundestag regarding Nord Stream 2. This is an important issue related to the strategic goals of our country, issues of national security not only of Ukraine, but also of many EU countries.

Various authorities, including the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, joined this process. I had the opportunity to chat with a colleague from Germany. As of today, this issue will be considered, but only this week - that is, we have additional time to defend our position in the international arena. I hope our colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other organizations will take advantage of this,” said the Speaker of the Rada.
