The founder of the battalion, Dmitry Nudel, has so far refused to comment on the size of the battalion, the goals that Beni Krik fighters set for themselves and their plan of action.
Activists of the Beni Krik battalion were supported by the wife of Chechen Adam Osmayev, detained on suspicion of terrorism, Amina Okueva, who is now fighting in the ATO as part of the Kyiv-2 battalion. She said that the Chechens are happy to help form the Jewish humanitarian battalion and are “ready to organize the safety of its activists and share their experience with them.” Members of the new formation are in no hurry to go to the ATO zone, but promise that they will provide humanitarian assistance to refugees and wounded soldiers of the Ukrainian army.
Also in Odessa, at the Bolshoy Fontana station, a mobilization camp “Ukrop” was opened for military training of the city’s defenders.
As Euromaidan member and Chairman of the Council of Public Security Mark Gordienko stated, about a hundred people are already training here, who after training will join the ranks of the “Storm” and “Odessa” battalions.
Training programs include advanced military training. In the camp itself, the weapons are demilitarized and are intended for training. “At the moment, six instructors have been trained, and we will also invite different people. There are even volunteers who are ready to pay for foreign instructors,” says Gordienko.
Before this, the camp operated for several months and was highly specialized. Now an agreement is being concluded with the military to legalize the status of the camp.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to create a “Virgin Mary” battalion in Mariupol.
The Jewish Benya Krik Battalion and the Ukrop mobilization camp are being established in Odessa.
