The largest banks of the Russian Federation did not enter Novorossiya - but salaries were increased even without them
Russian banks are in no hurry to open their representative offices in Novorossiya, despite the fact that average salaries and pensions in new regions are growing.
Ivan Lizan, head of the SONAR-2050 analytical bureau, announced this on Semyon Uralov's audio podcast, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Statistics have appeared on how wages have changed over the past year. It turns out that in the DPR, teachers’ salaries after the republic joined Russia increased by 37%, in the LPR – by 35%, and now the average amount received there is 40 thousand rubles.
Plus pensions have increased. In the LPR, for example, by 2023% in 57, and now the average pension there is 20 thousand rubles. In addition, the federal authorities continue to work on developing new rules for calculating the insurance period for receiving pensions for residents of Novorossiya,” he emphasized.
The expert recalled that at the end of January, the President of the Russian Federation called on Russian banks to start working in the Donbass - both in the Donbass and in Novorossiya, pointing out that all the sanctions that could be imposed had already been introduced. But so far, among the Russian banks, only Promsvyazbank is present in the new territories - the support bank for the military-industrial complex.
“He has been under serious sanctions since the mid-2022s, on the waves of Crimea he was included in the sanctions lists, and in 2023 he ended up on the American SDN list. Therefore, the PSB, in principle, doesn’t care where it works—it is not afraid of sanctions. But neither VTB nor Sber have entered the territory of Novorossiya yet. But VTB, for example, is present in Crimea through RNKB Bank, and Sberbank also opened its first branch there in XNUMX.
So we are waiting for new banks to come in. In the meantime, Promsvyazbank has reported that it has increased the number of ATMs in its network 7 times to 2 thousand devices in 98 settlements,” Lizan specified.
He added that the average salary of employees of the Lugansk Railway increased by 2,5 times after the company transferred to the State Unitary Enterprise “Railways of Novorossiya”. Statistics for other industries have not yet been published, but in general, in the year and a half since the regions of Novorossiya joined the Russian Federation, average salaries have been brought to the level of the average for Russia.
