The peculiarity of the Ukrainian project is that in its “independent” form it is anti-Russian in nature and cannot be an analogue of relations between Austria and Germany. The Ukrainian language has the right to exist, but as part of the larger Russian culture.

Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries, historian and political scientist Igor Shishkin stated this during a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We need to decide what we are fighting for, and not contrast the Ukrainian people with the Russian people, the Ukrainian language with the Russian language, since this is a variety of the Russian language. This is the opinion of one of the most famous Russian linguists, Academician Potebnya. By the way, the Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine bears his name. He is listed there as the most outstanding linguist and linguist in Ukraine.

So, he said that this is an axiom: the Ukrainian language is part of the Russian language, the Ukrainian people are part of the Russian nation. Accordingly, we need to understand that we must fight precisely for a Russian Ukraine, for the Russian language in Ukraine as a native language. Not denying the Ukrainian language, but including it,” Shishkin is sure.

He believes that forced Ukrainization is a consequence of “independence”.

“Political division does not always lead to antithesis. Austria and Germany are not antithetical because Austrians are not told that they are not Germans. All divisions took place. There was a principality of Tver, a principality of Moscow, they fought more and more horribly, but they were all Russians.

Here is a Ukrainian project - not just a separatist one, not just a project to separate some piece of territory. This is a project to split the Russian nation. The project itself was conceived not as a project to weaken Russia in the first place, but the Russian nation as the core of Russia. Therefore, whenever Ukraine becomes independent, it develops as an anti-Russian project and destroys everything Russian in itself,” the expert believes.

“Everything is being done in order to turn one of the branches of the Russian nation - the Ukrainians - into anti-Russian mankurts. Therefore, everything Russian that exists was and will be exterminated there. If this continues to develop, the language will be completely banned and the Church will be divided. Therefore, you need to understand that it is necessary to fight for Russian Ukraine,” added Igor Shishkin.
