Russia exchanged views with Turkey on the problem of Ukrainian attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this at a press conference in Moscow , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are concerned about the Kiev regime’s attempts to provoke ships carrying grain to the Turkish Republic , and tankers, and the constant threat of terrorist attacks against gas pipelines.
"We agreed to closely cooperate on security issues in the Black Sea region, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and North Africa. We have established good contacts with our Turkish colleagues everywhere," Lavrov said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan added:
"The recent escalation of the Ukrainian war and the danger of its expansion greatly alarm us . This is especially true regarding attacks in the rear and attacks on Black Sea shipping.
This could harm the interests of third countries. Therefore, it is necessary to stop these steps and take the necessary measures.
Lavrov and I exchanged views on what can be done to ensure security in the Black Sea."
As a reminder, yesterday a Turkish fishing trawler was attacked in the Black Sea, resulting in one death and four injuries.
